The Bay Boogie Street Band Society is a community based, inclusive wind band. We believe in the connecting and healing power of music.

We foster joy and connection through shared music making and dance.

We are a combination of players ranging from late beginners to seasoned professionals on our brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments.

Join us to share in fun and dance as we develop our ensemble playing.

The group plays custom arrangements of songs originally written/performed by Bay Area Artists from Pop, RnB, Rock, Soul, Latin, and Jazz genres, all penned by Artistic Director Mark Growden.

Bay Boogie will be performing and rehearsing in the streets, parks, and public open spaces in SF, the East Bay, and beyond.

As a Music Society we have two primary missions:

1) We provide an inclusive setting for our community of members to safely/joyfully develop their musicianship, and

2) We contribute to making music more accessible via sliding scale/free membership and by directing fundraising efforts for underserved local youth music programs.

Join Us

Band members can expect to improve their skills and understanding of their role/part within the greater ensemble. With the support of Co-founder Joseph Osborne and the musical direction of Mark Growden, you can find trust in knowing you are among music makers who believe in the art of playing and connecting. You will have fun!

Hear Us

You can catch BBSBS performing at local parks, and street fairs. Keep an eye out for our tip jar, the proceeds from which go to supporting local youth music programming. Check out our events page for planned concerts and like us on facebook to stay posted on upcoming events.

As the world reopens to safely gather in public spaces, we encourage the utmost discretion in safety, health, and social distancing as we all do our part to heal a wounded world.

Support Us

We need your help to make this Bay Boogie Street Band Society a reality. A lot of work goes into making this project happen.

From custom musical arrangements, permits for local parks, and masterful musical team/direction, we can use your support.

If you are unable to join us in person, we hope you will consider supporting us through a scholarship and/or programming donations to help keep the Boogie going!

We are membership dues and donation supported; your donation is an essential part of making this happen! Donations can be made through our 501c3 Fiscal Sponsor, Intermusic, wherein you are able to make a tax-deductible donation (See link below). Also you can contribute through our GoFundMe at the following link____.
